Marvin Heuduck Takes Over as Head of The Good Cashmere Standard®

Hamburg, 13 May 2026. Marvin Heuduck has joined the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) since 1 April 2026 as the head of The Good Cashmere Standard (GCS) and New Standard Development, filling a newly created role within the AbTF team. In this capacity, he will foster the further development of the world’s leading standard for sustainable cashmere fibres. The Good Cashmere Standard® protects animal welfare and the environment while securing social standards for herders and workers in the first cashmere-processing stage.

In Marvin Heuduck, the Aid by Trade Foundation gains an expert who has demonstrated extensive knowledge in the areas of certification, goat husbandry, and animal welfare. Through his doctorate from the University of Göttingen as well as his work for various authorities and in international efforts, he has developed sound scientific and practical experience in the field of animal welfare and protection; this represents an ideal foundation for succeeding in the newly created position.

Tina Stridde, the managing director of the Aid by Trade Foundation, underlines the new hire’s significance, saying, “We are delighted to have gained Marvin Heuduck for our team—a true professional. With his combination of scientific expertise in goat farming, extensive practical experience in animal welfare, and sound knowledge in the certification of agricultural products, he will play a key role in setting the future development of The Good Cashmere Standard® on the right course.”

Marvin Heuduck himself looks forward to his new task. He is highly motivated, saying, “My passion is for the goats, who impress me through their unique nature. Ensuring their well-being and finding new ways to protect them in the context of cashmere extraction is a project close to my heart. Through this position as the head of The Good Cashmere Standard®, the Aid by Trade Foundation offers me a unique opportunity to use my years of expertise in animal welfare to make a difference and to decisively help shape the standard for the future.”

About the Aid by Trade Foundation
Founded in 2005 by the entrepreneur Prof. Dr Michael Otto, the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) is now an internationally renowned non-profit organisation that works throughout the world to promote sustainable raw materials. Its activities make a decisive and measurable contribution to improving the living conditions of people and animals while protecting the environment. AbTF takes a practical approach by creating and maintaining a variety of standards to verify raw materials: Cotton made in Africa® (CmiA), Cotton made in Africa Organic (CmiA Organic), the Regenerative Cotton Standard® (RCS), and The Good Cashmere Standard® (GCS). With changes in the climate and the markets increasingly posing challenges for textile companies and small-scale farmers, the standards have a fundamental role to play in ensuring their resilience and future viability. AbTF collaborates closely with industry experts and with specialists in animal protection and nature conservation.
