ModelFarms

go with and beyond The Good Cashmere Standard®

On the model farms, goats thrive in an enriched environment that’s thoughtfully designed with natural materials to enhance their well-being.

Man-made climbing structures add additional enrichment , providing both fun and shelter for the goats.

Each model farm is unique, with distinct strengths and innovations. Some feature indoor enrichment areas, while others have established modern goat baths.

Heated drinking troughs ensure the goats have access to fresh water around the clock, even in the coldest months.

The farms are committed to animal welfare, actively considering the five domains of animal care in their management practices.

Goats have regular access to water and are fed qualitatively and quantitatively nutritious feed.

Access to pasture is provided.

Goats can maintain relationships with humans and are treated humanely. The welfare of the goats during and after cashmere extraction is a top priority.

Herders co-exist with wildlife and preserve biodiversity.

The herders practise sustainable grassland and cropland management.

Rights of children and decent working conditions are respected.

Complete traceability and processing in accordance with GCS guidelines is a given.
